CHRIS YOUNG: IT MUST BE CHRISTMAS REVIEW
By - Giosi Tortoricifor Countrified Canada
Christmas has come early...thanks to Chris Young . The country artist released "It Must Be Christmas" on October 14th, the first holiday album to drop ahead of the pack and already proving to become a favorite addition to anyone's holiday collection.
A first ever Christmas album for Young, it features 10 tracks including 2 original songs that mix in perfectly with the classics. His traditional approach blends a special twist , enlisting the help of some of his fellow artists to collaborate on some notable duets. He teams up with Alan Jackson for a rendition of "There's a New Kid in Town", a song originally recorded by the late Keith Whitley. Brad Paisley, along with his amazing guitar parts, lends his harmonies to "The First Noel". Young’s recording of “Silent Night” with Boyz II Men further proves Young’s ability to give the familiar classic a warm new feeling.
Young’s impressive vocal range transcends different vibes; a fusion of soul to blues to country; his warm baritone style never disappoints.
It Must be Christmas is a well -crafted album worthy of being the absolute must-have on this Season’s holiday playlist. An impressive modern approach to some beloved Christmas classics, this album is truly the best Christmas gift one anticipated …even if it is October.
